The all-new adidas Running 4DFWD and 4DFWD PULSE running shoes combines science with technology, years of athlete data, 3D printing and renewable materials with one aim in mind: to keep you moving forward.
4DFWD is all about the midsole. For over four years, adidas has worked with Carbon to develop the 4D lattice technology that makes the 4DFWD midsole unique. Don’t think it’s a conventional foam midsole.
From over five million possible lattice structures, the partnership identified the only one that is geometrically coded to redirect the impact of a foot hitting the ground, into forward motion. The midsole is designed to compress forwards under loading and counter mechanical forces and, with a heel that’s angled to increase impact absorption, you should think soft landing. Impact absorption. Smooth heel transition. A gliding experience. Precision performance.
In line with adidas’ commitment to ending plastic waste, the 4DFWD midsole is made with 40% natural and renewable materials.
Following a limited release in May and a special solar red and white colourway released in June, the adidas 4DFWD and adidas 4DFWD PULSE will be available globally from 12 August in a striking black colourway with signal green accents.
To mark the shoe’s release, adidas is launching the Take It Forward Challenge where runners or walkers of all abilities are challenged to complete 30km in three weeks in the adidas Running app (download for Apple/Android).
Sign up for the Take It Forward Challenge between 05-09 August and then run or walk outdoors or on a treadmill between 10-31 August.
And if you’re looking for a holistic training plan to help you get to that total of 30km, adidas Runners has you covered with a free virtual programme comprising of training, running and nutrition sessions.
